Time Management (6): How Valuable Is Your Time?

Regarding your time as a valuable entity is the very first step to becoming successful in whatever you do. Time is so precious, so fickle and practically limited. Everyone is given twenty-four hours a day! It is up to you to maximize the one you have been given to change your circumstances and aspire for better things in life. Time management, an ageless concept, and ever dynamic idea, requires that you learn, practice and implement procedures that can help you control or manage your time in order to achieve higher return-on-investment in every facet of your life. You probably have heard people saying “time is money”; a single hour, for some people, may worth over a $1000. And no one in his or her right mind will like to squander such a fortune by engaging in frivolous activities.
Below are some tips on how you can manage your time:
Avoid time-wasting activities that add no intrinsic value to your life
Maximize your time by engaging in essential and life-enriching events
Use devices (alarms, schedulers etc) to keep a tab on your time
Identify things or people that seem to take a bite at your precious time and avoid them
Learn how to simply say no to things that are not edifying in your life
Plan ahead and concentrate on your responsibilities accordingly
