Success (3): Some Misconceptions About Success

Success is measured by different standards: in other words, people consider success in diverse perspectives. But there are still some underlying misconceptions about success which include but are not limited to the following assumptions:
(i)                 Some people believe that success is all about making money and creating wealth (this may not be so)
(ii)               Others think riding in an expensive car or living in a posh mansion indicates that someone is successful (this is not true)
(iii)             People think that holding a lofty political, social or business executive position reveals that one is successful (the fact is that some people did hold such positions in the past but are regarded as stupendous failures in life today)
(iv)             Others think that success is only measured by your level of academic education (this is not true; some people do not have education but they are still successful)
                                     So, what is success?

Success is finding what excites you, develop yourself doing it and enjoying life to the fullest. Of course, you can amass wealth in the course of doing this, and you can also live in a posh estate or ride the best car in town.

Time Management (3): Dealing With Procrastination

Some people have labeled “procrastination” as the “thief of time”. Using this description, it is true to say that procrastination normally bites deeply into your valuable time and eats it up so that you can’t utilize your precious time to accomplish enviable deeds.
Here are some of the practical ways you can decisively deal with your procrastination:-
(i)                 Just Do It:- This quote is attributed to Michael Jordan, and it is the best advice anyone can ever get—go ahead and just do that thing (project, schooling, marriage) you’ve been putting off for so long.
(ii)               Be Fearless:- Fears usually prevent people from doing what they should be doing. But when you become fearless, you will be able to achieve more.

(iii)             Have Some Reminders:- One of the most effective methods of overcoming procrastination is to set up some reminders, they can be object or human reminders—alarms or your friends or spouses.

Happiness (3): Do You Really Want To Be Happy?

Do you really want to be happy? Happiness is an abstract experience that cannot be physically quantified or measured. But it can be felt and enjoyed. It brings peace of mind, resourcefulness and greater productivity. And for anyone to be filled with happiness, he or she must show the apparent willingness that he or she truly NEEDS it.
Here are some of the THINGS you should know about Happiness:
(i)                 Happiness emanates from your actions—in other words, what you do on a daily basis contributes to the level of happiness you can experience.
(ii)               Watch your lifestyle, it either makes you happy or unhappy—destructive lifestyles often produce unhappiness.
(iii)             What kind of people do you have around you? Believe this: if your friends are hecklers, sadists and persistent accusers, sorry friend, you will never be happy.
(iv)             Don’t be deceived that having a lot of money can make you happy; not always. Happiness comes from the way you live your life and how you use your wealth.
(v)               Lastly, happiness is a choice: people have the power to choose whether they want to be happy or not. The choice is yours!

Personal Transformation (3): You Are A Valuable Genius to the World

There’s no doubt that you are indeed a valuable genius to the world! There are different definitions of “genius” in the dictionaries, and Webster-Merriam Dictionary defines it as “extraordinary intellectual power especially as manifested in creative activity. God has input in everyone a seed of intellectualism. In other words, you are a genius if you have at any time—
(i)                 Set your mind on an idea, a good cause, a business, an agenda and achieve it
(ii)               Create something out of nothing
(iii)             Influence people’s lives in a way that they will never remain the same
(iv)             Have the thought of transforming this world for good.
But it is not enough knowing that you are a genius; you must truly get up, get going and actively do something to achieve all your sterling goals!

Organizational Performance (3): The Essence of Work-Life Balance

Maintaining a robust work-life balance produces some encouraging results. It has been noted, over the years, that when people successfully separate their working life from private one, they won’t only become happier, but also end up to be more productive in their respective professions.
If you are interested in improving your working experience in order to contribute more meaningfully to the organization you work for, consider the following pieces of advice about work-life balance:
(i)                 Identify that your home is only meant for resting and not necessary an extension of your workplace where office assignments and emotional problems can be brought to
(ii)               Attempt to complete your daily tasks at the workplace
(iii)             Learn how to make the switch from “office mode” to “home mode”; you’ll gradually get better at doing this.
(iv)             Do not disturb people at home with “office” complaints—you aren’t only inconveniencing them by doing so, you are also reminding yourself the reasons for getting angry or emotional at work
(v)               Practice “mind-silencing”, which is the process of making your mind experience a moment of “stillness”. Some people may want to call this meditation, but it is not. It is just a moment of keeping your mind under control, in a silent manner.
