Success (6): Maximizing Those Little Opportunities

The adage that “little drops of water make a mighty ocean” is forever relevant in human life. This is because we are sometimes guilty of passing off “little” opportunities as insignificant and unneeded. Our attention is rooted mainly on the “big” successes, miraculous wealth, and unexpected, huge achievements. This mindset might be wrong to a certain extent. Not everyone can suddenly achieve huge success or wealth beyond their wildest imaginations. However, we are all fortunate to be presented with what we could refer to as little opportunities on a daily or regular basis. Hence, it is everyone’s duty to convert these little opportunities into a gigantic one.
Here are examples of how to use what we have to obtain what we want:
Business opportunities—Are you running a business you think is small and slightly profitable? Remember that businesses are conduits or media for providing goods and services for people. If you improve upon the quality of services or goods you offer, you are likely going to increase your customers’ base and eventually increase your profitability.
Job benefits—On the other hand, if you are working for someone, you should utilize the benefits your job proffers. Apart from saving yourself to prosperity, you can also acquire skill and knowledge you can use to set up your own business in the future.
Communication & connections—To succeed in anything, whether in business or at workplace, you definitely need to maintain a robust communication strategy that will ensure that you are connected to the right people that will give you a leg-up in life.

Time Management (6): How Valuable Is Your Time?

Regarding your time as a valuable entity is the very first step to becoming successful in whatever you do. Time is so precious, so fickle and practically limited. Everyone is given twenty-four hours a day! It is up to you to maximize the one you have been given to change your circumstances and aspire for better things in life. Time management, an ageless concept, and ever dynamic idea, requires that you learn, practice and implement procedures that can help you control or manage your time in order to achieve higher return-on-investment in every facet of your life. You probably have heard people saying “time is money”; a single hour, for some people, may worth over a $1000. And no one in his or her right mind will like to squander such a fortune by engaging in frivolous activities.
Below are some tips on how you can manage your time:
Avoid time-wasting activities that add no intrinsic value to your life
Maximize your time by engaging in essential and life-enriching events
Use devices (alarms, schedulers etc) to keep a tab on your time
Identify things or people that seem to take a bite at your precious time and avoid them
Learn how to simply say no to things that are not edifying in your life
Plan ahead and concentrate on your responsibilities accordingly

Organizational Performance (6): Self-motivation & Organizational Culture

Are you one of those who gets up every Monday morning with sadness because you seriously dread your job? Research show that most people who have heart attacks do so just before 8 a.m. because they will be heading to jobs they hated so much. Why is it like this? It is evident that something is inherently lacking here, and that is self-motivation!
Every company has its distinct organizational culture designed to make its employees enjoy the work they do. It is helpful for people to explore the benefits proffered in their companies’ organizational cultures.
Here are some essential issues you must understand if you want to have a wonderful working experience at your workplace:
Do you utilize the communication channels in place at your company to communicate your concerns and complaints to the appropriate authorities?
Are you excited about the benefits offered by your company? Does that constantly make you happy?
Do you usually use the environment for good relationship in your organizational culture to have mutually engaging conversation with your colleagues?
Do you constantly remind yourself of the purpose for working? That you have responsibilities that are there to be met? And that you are better off working?
Do you see yourself growing professionally doing that job? And don’t you derive some satisfaction from such a feeling?
Most of the time, what people see are the bad happenings at their workplaces. They mistakenly shut their eyes to the benefits of having a wonderful working experience as enshrined in their company’s organizational cultures.

From now on, work smartly. Work happily!

Happiness (6): You Want To Be Happy Forever?

It is a fact that everyone wants to be happy all the time. Some have taken significant steps in pursuing happiness. People have been taught how to achieve and maintain their state of happiness. But most people have seen their happiness disappeared after a brief period of time. This experience could be sad and energy-sapping.
So, if you want to experience a state of happiness forever, it is very important that you must avoid attitudes that may kill your happiness on a daily basis. Here are the right attitudes to life in order to stay happy:
Do not keep pessimistic or negative people around you for so long
Be satisfied with what you have at the moment as you work hard with all determination to improve yourself and move up the ladder of success
See every problem as a step to gain more experience in life and not something to be seriously worried or depressed about
Smile always, show love to people around you and share your joy with them
Identify things or activities that make you laugh often and do more of them regularly

Be yourself but seek advice when necessary

Personal Transformation (6): Stretching Your Boundaries

It is true on most occasions that the limitations around us, limiting our personal and professional achievements, are mainly the ones we set ourselves or allowed to exist. If you want to accomplish more than you currently have, it is imperative that you should step out of your comfort zones and stretch those restrictive boundaries surrounding you.
Fear is the main hindrance to stretching one’s horizons!
Research and some thought-provoking interviews have shown that successful people also have fears in the hearts, but they chose to confront and deal decisively with them so as to emerge victorious.

Do not settle for less when you possess the capability to achieve more. Identify the kind of fear holding back. Deal with it as if your entire life depends on it. Go ahead and do things your “fearful mind” has constantly told you are impossible. Believe in your strength and ability. And seek help from those who will be able to strengthen your weak mind and safely guide you through the process of achieving more in life.
